Books. Well, I like books. I like talking about bookstores and used bookstores and libraries and museums.
Star Trek, but I have to remember not everyone wants to talk about it. I can also talk about Blake’s 7 or Babylon 5 for variety.
I just finished reading all the A Song of Ice and Fire books, so now I am dying to talk about it with someone.
History. I love museums. I read and collect books on African American history. My grandmother was a part of a historical archive project and I found a three hour interview with her online! It was a real treasure to hear her voice again.
Science. I don’t know as much about science as I like but I enjoy learning about it.
Food. I enjoyed reading everyone’s post about food because I love to try new cuisine.
The truth is, I’m fairly open about what I will talk about. I am a shy person, but when I get a chance to meet someone new, I try to listen and get to know about them. The only things I don’t talk about with people I don’t know well are sensitive topics like politics or religion. I also hate office gossip. As soon as the office gossip starts in the break room, I leave. I really don’t want to be pulled into it.
I don’t much like talking about sports but I’m trying to more open about that. I had so much fun watching World Cup Rugby last year, I think I’m actually beginning to like it.
It sounds like we have a lot in common. 🙂 I love all of those topics, too.

We have a tiny art museum in town and a teeny museum about the Spirit of ’76 in the town south of us. I’ve been to the art museum, but the ’76 museum is closed part of the year (now all due to covid). I’d bet we’d have fun going to those museums and discussing what we saw. 🙂

I love Star Trek! In addition, I used to go to Star Trek conventions with my mom. No, we did not dress up, but it was fun to see others in costumes. We always had a great time. Great post!

That’s great! I went to a few. I never did elaborate costumes either, but I loved it.

I got hooked on Star Trek when it first came out, that’s how old I am. It’s painful to stream the original now, Shatner really overacted. Wife and I stream all the series and movies regularly.

My kids and I binged on Stargate SG-1 last winter and into spring. After we finished, they were eager to watch more sci-fi shows. So, I suggested we dive into the Star Trek Universe! With all the spin-offs, that will keep us busy for a while! lol I grew up watching ST: Next Generation with my parents who were fans of the original series. Over the summer, my kids and I watched all of Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Now, we’re onto the Next Generation. I love re-watching the shows and it’s fun to see my kids’ reactions to these episodes. They love it as much as I do!

I need to binge Stargate. I actually watched Stargate Atlantis more than SG-1. It’s great that your kids are watching Trek. I was watching TOS with my daughter I thought she’d get bored, but she actually liked it. (She’s only 8) She also like the animated series. My husband never saw track as a child, but really got into DS9 when we watched it together.
